The Battle of Lake Erie, detail
The Battle of Lake Erie, detail of the ship at extreme left, above, showing members of the crew, six of the eighty-five portraits painted for the Thumprint Portraits event. In return for a small donation, members of the public marked the wall with their thumbprint which was then turned into their portrait (publicized as 100% guaranteed unrecognizable when done). They also put their thumbprint on a small card that received the same treatment, was titled, dated and signed by the artist, and which they took away as a souvenir.
Barclay and Perry, the commanders of the opposing fleets.
